ARE MY STUDENTS GETTING IT???

Have you considered using entry/exit slips?

Entry slips and exit slips are written responses from students to questions you pose either at the beginning or at the end of class your class period. They usually take no more than five minutes and you can tell very quickly from these responses whether your students are understanding the material (in the way which you presented it) fully. I have included some general questions for you. Please "tweak" them as necessary to accommodate your learners.

Admit Slips
Write one (or more) things that you already know about____ . (Great when just beginning a unit or lesson)
Write one question that you still have about the lesson/activity that we did yesterday.
Explain how you solved one problem (the process) you did for homework last night.

Exit Slips
One thing I learned today is....
One thing I am not sure about from today's lesson is....
I can use this information again when I....
